Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a chronic systemic disorder, characterized by generalized pain in the muscles, tendons and ligaments and widespread local tenderness. The tenderness originates from muscular trigger points, which are taut bands of muscle fibers. The pain is often felt across the shoulders and pelvis. The cause is unknown and it affects women more commonly than men.

These symptoms of Fibromyalgia may be improved by gentle soft tissue techniques and medical acupuncture, to release tender muscular trigger points and lengthen the muscle. We will also provide a gentle stretching and exercise programme that is tailored to your needs.
